Collectif Continuum

Starting point : The photon’s eye

If a photon had a hypothetical "eye", it would not perceive anything extraordinary while traveling at the speed of light. He would simply perceive everything. Instantly. The photon would move at its own speed, meaning that, in accordance with Einstein's special relativity, time would be "frozen" for it. There would be no passage of time. During its journey, all information about all ages of Earth would be available simultaneously.

In many areas, questioning causality reflects our growing awareness of the complexity of the natural world and society. New ways of modeling and understanding these complexities appear to lead to nonlinear or probabilistic perspectives rather than simple cause-and-effect relationships. Evolutionary biology, linguistics, postmodern philosophy, contemporary art, ecology, computer science and artificial intelligence… these fields embrace the idea that complexity and diversity are inherent to their evolution, rather than following a linear trajectory of progress.

This collective was formed with the aim of exploring in depth enigmatic concepts from various fields: visual arts, philosophy, anthropology, art history, physics, literature, architecture, cinema, poetry. Its purpose consists of transcending the traditional boundaries of disciplines by using art as a common language to question and give life to the notions of continuum and non-causality.

Fusion + global vision

By adopting a transdisciplinary approach, this collective seeks to develop a perspective that can only be achieved through a deep synthesis of intertwined disciplines. Co-creation between disciplines is not a one-off collaboration, but an ongoing process. Members of the collective work together to develop projects and works that reflect a truly transdisciplinary perspective. In addition to content, the transdisciplinary artwork could also innovate on a formal level by using varied techniques and mediums to create an immersive and multidimensional artistic experience.

Affects, percepts and concepts are linked and always present in conjunction with each other. The collective aims to develop a holistic vision that encompasses not only the conceptual aspects of the notion of continuum and non-causality, but also their practical, societal and cultural implications. The transdisciplinary work is designed to invite the viewer to think more deeply and creatively about how ideas interact with our understanding of the world. We seek to broaden our vision of reality and increase our power to act.

Global narrative

A transdisciplinary collective could create work that seeks to encompass all aspects of artistic expression, both in substance and form, to offer a comprehensive and profound expression of the spirit of its time. We do not claim to be able to create a total work of art, but we like to pursue it into the depths of the continuum.
